I'm obsessed with the politics of energy and the (re)emergence of the global green energy movement. I am the publisher of ecopolitology.org. I am also the lead writer at Red, Green, and Blue and a regular contributor at CleanTechnica.com and sustainablog.org. I like to stumble politics, cleantech, sustainable design, maps, digital art, photography, irony, satire, humor and other Stumblers. You may now proceed with your stumbling.

Homepage of Clay Shirkey's new book, "Here Comes Everybody." I'm about 1/4 of the way through it and it is quite good. Shirkey gets it.

From the page: "I was told by my 8th grade teacher that all the most intelligent people in the world carried personal journals everywhere they went. I didn't believe her. Perhaps the fact that keeping a journal for the entire semester was a class requisite made me somewhat of a skeptic. Some months ago I found out she was right."

Does anyone else have as strong a hatred towards using the word 'impact' as a verb as I do? Well, despite our mutual distaste for the non-descriptive word it looks like it is hear to stay. :( From the page: "Nevertheless, the use of impact as a verb has become so common in corporations and institutions that younger speakers have begun to regard it as standard. It seems likely, therefore, that the verb impact will eventually become as usual as the verb contact has become over the last 30 years."

A man announces to his neighborhood that he is "not wearing this tie anymore" in a photojournal - with mp3 snippets! Hysterical.
